
This week Palm Beach hosted the CSI 5 * competitions, which saw Mclain Ward win three out of the four high level events, making him the undisputed Best in Show!
On Thursday February 8th the barrage category with prize money of $ 132,000 was taken by Mclain Ward riding HH Azur, ahead of Eric Lamaze in the saddle of Fine Lady, and Margie Engle riding Royce.
On Friday February 9th the timed category with prize money of $ 35,000 was again taken by Mclain Ward, this time on Bellefleur PS Z. Second was Darragh Kenny, riding USA Normande, and third was Karen Polle riding Little Lord 90.
On Saturday February 10th the Grand Prix of the CSI 5 *, a barrage category with pool prize of $ 384,000, saw the victory of Daniel Bluman riding Ladriano Z, ahead of Beat Mandli riding Dsarie, and Cian O’Connor riding Clenur . A mistake by HH Azur in the first round left Mclain Ward in ninth place in the standings.
On Sunday 11th another barrage category, with a prize money of $ 70,000 was won by Mclain Ward riding Bellefleur PS Z, where Francisco Josè Mesquita Musa came in second with Catch Me Imperio Egipicio, and third was Eve Jobs on Charleville.
